Art on Thursday at Museum of TTU

A hands-on art class for adults, ages 18 and older.
Explore the elements of art and the principles of design through special tours in the Museum Galleries and a variety of hands on materials and activities.

The March session will explore the element of line and will include exploration of the Davies Gallery of Southwestern Art. We will use pencil and paper to explore line as a tool for drawing and expression.

No artistic experience or knowledge of art is required to participate. The purpose of each class is to provide art educational experience to enhance encounters with and understanding of the visual arts through hands-on experience with diverse materials through accessing the resources of the Museum of TTU.

Limited to 20 participants

Classes will be held the second Thursday of each month at the Museum of Texas Tech University

Classes will be taught by Dr. Jill Hoffman, Helen DeVitt Jones Curator of Education for the Museum

$5.00 per person per class, to cover the cost of supplies

Classes will meet in the Old Assembly room on the ground floor of the Museum, across from the Moody Planetarium

Each class will be a single event, so beginning a class at any time, and attending various, non-sequential dates is fine. The class will explore various materials and processes and will, at times explore ideas, themes and processes reflected with the collections of the Museum of Texas Tech University.

Pre-registration is required.
